Cats and Distance

Seriously. I have to have the door closed some nights just to get some sleep, and they treat it like I have left them forever. No moment is sacred without them.

On another note, introducing the newest member of the family, Mardelle (didn't name her...). She is a feral kitten turned cute-to-crazy slightly bigger house kitten. She is lovingly called Mar when she isn't attacking fingers beneath the blanket.

Out of Touch

At the start of Summer vacation (for him), CK was traveling with his folks (his Dad and his partner around Italy, and his Mom and her husband around Ireland) for part of June and most of July. Thus, I came to realize how spoiled I had been in being able to talk to him for hours at a time, and how much I appreciate the ability to do so as well as his presence.

Also, Clyde was still alive when I drew this, and it still tugs at my heart whenever I see my drawings of him.

Kitty Overlords

I have consistently had cats in my life since I was three. Not having a kitty companion in Malta was one of the reasons I think living on my own for a year was so hard. Cats are just great companions and even better friends to have in your family. They also help with filling the empty space where your partner is supposed to be.

This comic is dedicated to all of our feline overlords, but mostly to Lilli (my 13yo black cat), still kickin' it and bitching; Miette (9yo Abyssinian), who passed away last year to kidney failure; and Clyde ( > 1yo American grey shorthair), who recently died of FIP (a terrible and incurable autoimmune disease) in June 2015.

Skype

Skype has been a wonderful tool to keep in touch, not only with CK, but with LD friends as well.

Boss Level

For the love I have for coffee, I really should have an "espresso yourself" mug in my life.
